Air Force Ball 2006

Soon after we arrived it came time for the Air Force Ball which is always Chris's favorite time of the year-not really....Every year he says we're gonna skip it-but I've conned my way into going everyyear since he's been in the military!! And this year I even got a brand new dress made -tailored just for my pregnant self and everything-and it was beautiful....Korea's an awesome and (cheaper) place to get anything you want made or embroidered or anything like that!!

Our new friend

Shortly after we arrived here we found out that Korea is a good place to get Maltese, and other dog breeds that are harder to get in the states, being only available from breeders for an arm and a leg...here they sell them in pet stores for reasonable prices. So we decided to get this little puppy for the kids and besides Chris wanted a puppy instead of a cat-goofy dog people!! :) But anyway, she lasted for about a year before moves, and accidents in the house, and mommy having to take care of all of it AND the kids definetely became too much so she went to a house with other young children who could appreciate her and give her the attention she needed!!
Arriving in a new land with a new home to set up was a very daunting task-especially when you see how they get your household goods to the 10th floor of your apartment!! It was a scary view to see these men kind of just hovering in mid air outside our balcony with our couch just waiting for either to plummet down ten stories and land on the concrete below!!

Staying with the Current

Now that we've let you see a few older pictures of at least the two older kids younger days, since the young one is still in those young days, we'll try to focus on our time that we've had together here in Korea since that's the name of this blog right!! FYI...Hangul is the English word for written Korean-so I thought it was a catchy little title for our adventures here in the "Land of the Morning Calm" as Koreans call it....

Catching Up

We're going back...back...back

Alright now that I've got the hang of this blogging thing (somewhat), I wanted to show some pictures from the early days of Chris's military career before the Strommer crew BECAME a crew!! So these next few snippets are just some older pictures to catch you up on how our family became the hiking, camping, outdoors"ing" loving people that we are!! Enjoy and happy reading (and viewing!!) ;)

A Family Gallery

Footprints

On one of Chris's days off we took a trip to one of the area beaches, Mallipo Beach and I had always wanted to do this artsy style black and white type picture and Chris is very good at getting our camera to do all kinds of cool things even though my hand happens to be in the picture holding Kyle's leg-if a 5 month old could just hold it where he's told...golly gee Kyle!! :)

Still Figuring it out!!

Well here's our latest attempt at trying to figure out this whole blogging thing-if this one goes where I want it to go then it will be a perfect place to be able to backtrack a little bit in our life here together and show some pictures of when Kyle was born and when the other two hoodlums were a little younger!! Okay well let's try this and see where it ends up....happy readings!!

Adventures in the Land of Hangul

Well I hope this is how you get some words up here-since I can't seem to get my title to show up but oh well, such is the life of a first-time blogger, right!!?? Well anyway welcome to the Orient. You can explore a small part of this island, I wouldn't exactly say paradise, but maybe oasis with us, the Strommer Family. We hope you enjoy and I hope that I can get everything right and get the things to show up where they're supposed and how I want them....Good luck to me and happy reading to you!!
