Cutest Blogs on the Block Users

Well, I get this msg. from the company that I use for my blog background saying that my background (and everyone else's with the same co.) would be deleted on Friday (today) and so I go to change it and I changed other stuff while there. Not really sure I love what I changed but oh well, maybe I'll fix it later with a better picture.

Go Worst Team In The League!!

So Chris's squadron got a few dozen free tickets to an Orioles game, in support of Military Appreciation Day..so when I found out that we could go, I made a whole morning/afternoon of building up the excitement for my kids (they didn't know what the "fun thing" for that day was) and we watched "The Rookie" that morning (Love it!!) and it made it esp. fun because in the movie Jimmy Morris plays for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, and that was who the Orioles were playing!! Well, anyway as sad as it is, the Baltimore Orioles are indeed the worst team in the league, but hey when you get free tickets, you don't complain, right?? Well, I thought that if they're not good, then nobody would come out to see them botch up America's pastime, but actually from this last picture, maybe you can see that there were indeed plenty of fans pounding the pavement to go support their team!! It was hot, very long (3:30 hours) and they did lose (Ray-6-Orioles-5), BUT I was very glad to have my hubby with us, off of work, and being celebrated for a "job well done." ;)

Bro Or Sis??

Much to my husband's dismay, my littlest man loves to play dress-up with his sister...what you see here is a common place outfit for him during the days...This particular incident, I think he was a dog and needed some ears, and so we used the longest soccer socks we could find and rubber banded them to a headband!! Should I be contributing to my son's therapy fund now??

Portion Hike of the Narrows

I did it and boys was I proud of myself....no I didn't do it all like I wish I could say I did, but at least I did a little bit of this world-famous hike with no better people in the world...bro,hubby,and SIL!!!!

Aforementioned Cabin and Reunion Pic

There, at least I got the pic of the cabin on here, and the "familia" that occupied it for 3 days..what a wonderful opportunity it was for my children and myself to be able to get together with these brothers and sisters again after so many years. One of the families pictured here, I had never even met.....can't wait to do it again!! ;)

My Bro and His Fam!!

Can't wait to see you guys again!! You're checking that calendar, right Dianna!! ;)

Love This Boy!!

Well, at just 6 years younger than me, I guess he's more of a man but hey, younger is younger, right!!?? This is Casey, my older sister's son, and though we haven't seen each other since he was in high school (he's now been on a mission, gotten a degree, etc.) we fell right into a groove of me picking on him, him wrestling my kids, etc. (You know all the standard Aunt/nephew stuff, right!!??) ;) He is such an example of what a young LDS man should be, and the type of guy you would LOVE..no CRAVE for your daughters to marry. He and his family left a few days before we did (they drove to Oregon with 5 people in a 4 seat truck, with no air-conditioning, and in the middle of the night)..that's how my sister rolls!!
The reason I am giving my nephew a whole blog post to himself is because of the absolute wonderful person that he is, which is enough I think, but also because of the circumstance that he finds himself in at this present moment. Like I said, he and his family left a few days before mine did and in those few days extra that my family stayed, we received a call from this boy's mother (my sister) telling us of some horrific news that had befallen this young man. He was working as a "fill-in" for a construction company for only a week before his summer job started, and while in this temp job, some knuckle-head (insert MUCH harsher words here) decided to unscrew a railing on a second story scaffolding that the company was working and climbing on but DIDN"T TAKE IT DOWN!!!! It was left for whoever the next unfortunate soul was to pass by that way to fall to what easily could have been their death. Of course, as I say this you know I speak of Casey...but fortunately he was not killed but shattered both his wrists at the growth place and had to have immediate surgery to put steel rods/pins/etc. into his hands just to be able to TRY and save SOME of his mobility. The surgeon told his mother that he was not very optimistic that Casey would ever regain all the mobility he once had. Can you just imagine what you would feel/say/do,etc.
I LOVE YOU CASEY!!

My Husband..The Fearless Explorer

So our family reunion cabin (pics to follow later, because you know me and I can't put them in the right order) was right outside Zion Nat'l. Park, and so one morning my brother/sister-in-law/nephew/and hubby decided to take the famous Angel's Landing hike while we were that close to the park. My husband said it was absolutely gorgeous/breathtaking/and freakin' crap your pants scary!! Three people died on this same hike just last year by making one false step off of the path and plummet to their demise some thousand feet down!! Yay for you guys, and no thanks for me!! ;)
