And One More Thing!!
You know, I check all the people's blogs that I have linked on my site quite frequently and when I go to leave some funny quip or one-liner on their comment section, they already have like 10 comments!! Am I just the ugly fat kid (sorry not politically correct, I know) of the blogging world that nobody leaves me comments on a regular basis!! I get blogger envy everytime I see all these wonderful ladies' comments on how beautiful their children are, and so forth and so on......Now I'm not asking you to tell me my children are beautiful because well I'm already a little biased but I do LOVE to wake up in the morning to a myriad of emails telling me that people have commented on my blog.....so if the 4 or 5 people that even read my blog would comment more often, it would greatly be appreciated because then I'd know that all my info and pictures of my family weren't out in cyber space for just anybody to see, they'd be there for you few AND the psycho internet stalkers!! See how nice that is!! I'm a needy person, what can I say!! ;)
Bozo's Hair Accesories Inc.
The reason I ever became interested in bows for my kid's hair was because of one little girl's puffy poofy over-the-top hairbows that nearly engulfed her entire cranium that I saw one day in the BX and so it's all downhill from there. The main reason (there are so many...hot glue to the fingers one too many times, ribbon won't cooperate, etc. and so forth) I say downhill is because I'd never been able to recreate them and these bows are no different, BUT they are VERY large and poofy to say the least. So at least I accomplished the engulfing the skull type of bow that I've been wanting to...yeah for that!! But they do "vaguely" resemble a certain circus performer's bow tie or accessory, don't you think!!??...but I just loved the polka dots and from there it just spiraled into this big cluster of moosh...complete with fur even!! Anyway, if you see my child walking with these in her hair please don't laugh at her too hard and just pick her up off the pavement where she's fallen over from the overwhelming weight on her head!!
First Day Jitters....You've Got to Be Kidding!!!!
Do you see any fear in this child's eyes or exuding from his beaming smile!! Yeah, didn't think so!! Armed with his blanket and brand new backpack he's ready to take on the scintillating new world of preschool!! How many of us wish we could go back to that day and age and play with sand/water all day and the hardest thing we had to master for that day was staying out of the dreaded...OH HORRORS OF HORROR....Time Out Chair!! I capitalize for emphasis!! Well the top picture is of his first day and then you'd think maybe after having such a grueling day of playing with new friends/things and avoidance (of that previously mentioned seat of naughtiness) that he might be a smidge bit bewildered so to say about whether this was "the right place for him" but as you can clearly see....there's none of that on the second day either!!
Recognize Me!!??
Not the child, of course but the fabric!! While up finishing Dalin's blanket....the lateness of the time and the realization that I was still going to have to get up at 6 AM no matter when I went to bed must have thrown me into a creative whiz because I thought up this little doodad for Destinee's hair...I thought it turned out very cute even though she's sideways!!
Yeah It's Done!!
As Dalin starts school this year (preschool) he's been so excited and so anxious to go, that I wanted to make him something that hopefully would be special to him and a cool thing to show off to his little dude and dudette friends....so we went to the ever wonderful Happy Quilt and Dalin picked out his own fabric (interesting new development for me, since if I ever actually do let my kids pick out anything, if I don't like it I always reserve the right to veto) and he actually did a wonderful job with coordinating all the colors and patterns!! The actual hardest part of this whole blanket....minus that whole it's the first thing I've ever sewn..well close as least was getting the yarn ties in the top of the blanket (click for bigger picture if you can't see) because supposedly a yarn needle which I thought I'd used before does not go through fabric...so after going around to numerous houses the day before Dalin starts school and searching for one and finally finding one only to be very discouraged to realize it doesn't go through fabric....BUT not one to admit defeat so easily, I stayed up until the wee hours of that night or morning however you look at it licking and burning and doing all sorts of rude and unmentionable things to the end of the yarn to get it to fit through a standard needle...by the morning I was feeling rather yarned out and my tongue definitely felt the effects of probably eating a hairball of yarn by way of sucking it down my throat!! ;) But it did turn out cute and Dalin was proud to have it, which was the most important thing of all!!
MY Sunday's Finest
Well, inspired by a fellow blogger's beautiful children in their best "church duds" I thought I'd do my own and besides I'd been meaning to post this picture of Kyle's outfit for a little while now!! Though my friend's church clothes probably cost alot more than mine (I scored a major bargain . at our last base flea market-oh yeah 3 pc. wool suit for a 2 year old!!) and then Dalin's treads are from the Thrift Shop here on base....who says trash can't be stylish (as in: "One man's trash is another man's treasure!!) Anyway, how cute would Kyle's suit be with some knee length black socks and a little beret!! Oh yeah but oh well on the black socks 'cause all we could find was some of Daddy's AF socks and they would've come up to his nose....the cuteness of how it would be with socks wasn't worth suffocating my baby!!
