The Knight and Thespian

Well here are my two "genteel" boys with their flea market purchase!! How much better for a four year and one year boy to dress up in a knight's costume (complete with sword,shield and helmet!!) than princess tiaras and hoochie-mama short skirts!! (All Destinee's and well she gets bored with no sister to dress up so sorry Dalin you're big sister's model for today!!) Anyway, in case any of you don't know what a thespian is (I'm not trying to insult your intelligence just trying to save some confusion for those that might wonder why I was calling my son an awful name that sounds a WHOLE lot like that) Anyway, definitely wasn't and a thespian is a person of the stage and dramatics persuasion so to say, which Dalin does a great slow dying scene here don't you think!! Future Romeo in the makings!! ;)

Bow Day Has Come and Gone!!

Well after many (I say many instead of actually naming numbers to prevent myself from sounding TOO obsessed and stupid to stay up over 10 nights until 12 or 1 AM (oh snikes I let it slip) to work on something as silly as ribbon!!) long hours of perfecting that "one last bow" just to stay up the next night to perfect yet another "one last bow"....the market was here and I must say that I was pleasantly proud of myself and the "creations" I'd accomplished when I set everything out all professional like...and then even with all that professional like arranging I didn't have a darn sale until an hour before the end!! Oh the humanity, right!!?? But towards the end there were people that did come by and pick up a few things, namely my best neighbor Tammy and her little girls...thanks for helping the fledgling business owner Abigail and Elizabeth!! ;) Anyway, by the end of the night I was thoroughly satisfied with the "return" for the amount of effort I'd put in and left with the satisfaction of knowing that I'd tried it once and that now it was out of my system and I'd just go on making them for Destinee, but then I got the "fever"-not the bad one because oooh that would be gross in a car-YUCK!!!! (since that's where the "illness" struck) but the "selling fever" and thought, hey maybe if I do this again next month maybe somebody will buy something before the last half hour and will see something they like and buy it for their dearest little darling with 31 minutes left and well...I mean if 31 minutes next month, well then the sky is just the limit for the next months-we might even get up to someone buying something in the first hour!!!! Oh how much there is to look forward to...can't you just feel the excitement ooozing through the screen right now.....Oh I sure can, but just watch out, don't sit too close to the screen or the "fever" might catch you and you'll find yourself staying up until 1 AM making bread for a bake sale or designing your own line of undies and not even know why you're doing it!! Consider yourself warned!! It's contagious!! ;)

Fancy Footsies!!

And here are the few ruffley socks (minus a pink on pink pair that Chris forgot to include in the lineup here)....they're awfully cute on here from a faraway angle but don't get too close Annee or you just might scream at the awful sewing job!! ;) Think they're cute enough to sell!!?? Hope so or else I'll just be laughed out of the market 'cause we're DOING it regardless!!

RRRRROOOOAAARRRRR!!!!!

Sorry I got a little key happy there but this was Desi's second day outfit and I just loved how everything meshed together with the brown top and then the animal print bows, not to mention the criss-crossy braids so that's why so many pictures there because I made the bows in like 5 minutes...they're not even on clips...they're bobby-pinned in her hair just for the day!! Aren't I resourceful!! ;)

First Day Creations!!

Well hopefully you can see her shirt enough to see that it has her name embroidered on it (of which downtown does a GREAT job of for really cheap) and then the ribbons crossing the shirt (of which me does NOT a GREAT job of I'm sure) but she liked it and I was proud of myself as well for even attempting a sewing machine EVER but I managed to make two of these shirts and matching bow on the bottom here, so she looked uber cute I think on her first day of big second grade!!

What is that Smell??

Oh it's just Destinee....no need to worry!! Well Destinee is starting to walk in the long, and very strange path of her mother while acting in a Missoula Children's Theater production. I did many of them as a younger kid and they are astonishing to me how well they come out with only a week's practice time and how elaborate the costumes and sets still are!! They've come here every year we've been here but we've missed them by mere days or hours either because of a vacation or well...yeah a vacation both times I think!! Anyway, this year's story was a spoof on Robin Hood with skunks that save Maid Marion while she's trapped in the tower by Prince John by distracting the guards with their uuhhhhummm...perfume!! Anyway I was a little worried she would be embarrassed about being such a noxious woodland friend but alot of her other school friends were playing them too and she was thrilled and did a great job!! So you go my "Drama" Queen girl!!

You put WHAT in your Cake!!??

Some of these next pictures are mainly for those lucky (I use that word very loosely) few that check my blog from the states that wouldn't have already been here to see these "events" take place!! So enjoy Mom,Ivy,and Di!! ;) This was Chris's and my collaborative effort at our second Diaper Cake...and I love how they turn out...they're always so fun and of course the second picture is the recipient of said cute cake!! She's due in just a few weeks...doesn't she look ready!!??

First Day Jitters!!

Actually I don't think there were any of those for Destinee or I for that matter this morning, only the hope that she will do well in her first few months of second grade and learn the things she needs to know...okay so maybe that does sound like jitters but not scared ones or lonely ones, just hopeful learning ones!! Anyway, I will post some of those fun pictures and some recent creations when I find the camera cord!! ;)
