Deal of the day!!

So while visiting my brother in Houston, my husband and kiddos treated me to some awesome deals for my birthday at the outlet malls IN their neighborhood!! The next day we went back to see if there were any deals left that Chris could enjoy as well. So this coat was our deal of the day... it started out at $150 and then was discounted from there for sales and it just never sold I guess....and I think we found out why when Chris bought it today for $35....that's one long zipper, huh!!?? :)

My Sweet Kiddos!!

Birthday cards/books from my kiddos...the one on the right is from Kyle and it was truly a book...it had like 10 pages of birthday drawings and sentences that he had written for me. He stuck with it all this mining and never gave up until it was all filled up!!

Wayside eateries

So we wanted to experience a little of what America has to offer in food other than the big chains, so we have been trying to eat at local restaurants that people say are good and this place in Arkansas was "off the chain" (as Chris would say) with these huge potatoes filled with meat and chili and cole slaw, etc.

Silly boys!!

Well since this blog chronicles our travels and lives in general, I thought I would throw in some funny experiences from our travels just for the fun of it. So the day before getting to Houston to visit with his family, we stayed in a small town a little ways away and went to an Asian buffet that had crawfish of all things, and Kyle really liked them!! However I think eating something that looks at me is quite disturbing and he liked to rub in that fact by pretending the crawfish was coming to eat me. Dalin even joined in after a while too!! Silly little men!!

A national park dedicated to bathing!!

So that's pretty much what Hot Springs N.P. is in Arkansas!! People for decades have come here for the naturally occurring thermal water that comes from the ground and have used it for luxurious baths and spa services. You can still do it today but its quite expensive, so we opted to just enjoy the scenery for free!! Oh and Kyle even became a junior ranger as evidenced by the embarrassed picture of him taking the junior ranger "oath!!"

A little late goodbye!!

So I forgot to post these pics of some wonderful people that Chris and I will never forget and always be appreciative to, but better late than never, right!!?? So the Dean family let us stay at their beautiful home for a week while our home was in "renovation stage" and then op top of that threw us a goin away party with 78 of our closest friends and family from church!! You all are such wonderful people and we will always remember your friendship!!
