Just On A Whim...My Latest Project
Well so I was searching high and low this afternoon for a free internet pattern for a simple dress I could do and understand (key with me!!) for Destinee on Valentine's Day...well no such luck there but I did find a pattern for these. I've always loved the idea but never had the skill nor the inclination to do anything on the sewing machine myself (well until recently ;) and so I "made these my own" by even changing up the pattern and stuff since I didn't have the lengths or colors it called for, I instead made "mini crayon roll-ups" with what I had here but they still hold 11 crayons so that's plenty for church I would say...so what do you think??

Now That's Value!!
If this was Wednesday, I might just entitle this one a Wordless Wednesday post and not have to say anything else but since it's not AND it's me that we're talking about here...oh c'mon I couldn't have not said anything even if it was Wednesday!! ;) Anyway, after a successful grocery shopping trip yesterday I came home and just had to show my fellow bloggers where they need to be getting their cereals...now the regular supermarkets have prices as low as $.99 for cereal but I've also certainly seen them as high as $4.00 for a reg. sized box of cereal. Let's get real here consumers..what are you really paying for....$4.00 for a REGULAR size box of sugar-coated hyperness for your children to consume..well have I got a deal for you. My local Super Wal-Mart (yes boo hiss Walmart if you must) has this gigantic bag of the same sugar-coated, bounce-off-the-wall, pleeeaassseee for heaven's sake just sit down bag of cereal for the same price that you paid at your local supermarket. Now you tell me that isn't getting what you "paid for!!" ;)
Snowy Days and Homemade Play-Dough
Well this past Saturday came and Dalin woke up with all the excitement of a little boy expecting a surprise that he didn't know what it was...this comes from me telling him that if he could behave at school and get all "green" days (blue, red, and yellow are BAD!!) ;) that we would do something very special as a treat on Saturday. Well Chris and I researched together (via internet 3000 miles apart) things that the kids and I could do to give Dalin an incentive to have these good days again. So I found something that I thought the kids would immensely enjoy and as wouldn't you know as luck would have it, the snows came AND came AND came...we couldn't get out of our parking spot even and so that activity had to get canceled but promised that we would try and make the on-base movie that night...so to pass the time we made some homemade playdough...the can picture is just to show you the preferred rolling method should you ever get a hankering to make some yourself!! ;) Anyway, so 30 minutes before the movie is supposed to start on base we get everybody all suited up in snow gear just to go the 5 ft. to the car and slip 'n' slide our way onto base just in time to see that the theater was closed for "inclement weather." Now come on USAF, if I can get my kids out in the cold just to sit in your second-rate theater with sub-par food, the least you could do would be SHOW UP!! No hard feelings as you can tell!!
