It can be done!!

So it almost never fails that every night when it's time for my kids to brush their teeth that a fight breaks out for what most of the time amounts to the silliest, littlest, and stupidest things..."I get to spit first, you're standing too close to me, you're breathing my air and basically existing" so when I heard what I construed to be happy sounds coming out of there...I had to document it. In the first picture you can barely see Dalin but his face is pressed up against the shower curtain on the very far right-hand side... so I took a second picture to show he was there too during this momentous occasion!! Yes we have a closed shower curtain that you can't see through in case anybody was wondering about that!!

A new find!!

So a few days ago our family traveled to Columbia... a town not too far away from us here that we have been to many times but we had to go to a different part of the city for a reason that made us all very sad but we saw something on the way home we told ourselves that we wanted to check out later we came back the next day and it was a cute small nature center... too bad we found it right before we leave!! Oh the picture of the parking signs was taken because it was special parking spots for hybrid vehicles but they were closer to the building and the ones for us gas guzzling, ozone polluting cars had to drive further away to park!! Does that make sense to anyone!!??

Drama Drama Drama

Well this holiday season Destinee and I decided to audition for a local theater company's production of Annie... well neither one of us got very good parts and it has been very very time-consuming and probably not worth our time but I've met some really good people that I should keep as friends and Destinee has made some good friends too it's almost over though!!

Still a little under the weather...

Well we've had a first this year in our family usually our family has a sickness and it goes through us one at a time and then we are over it and that is our sickness for the year... but this year unfortunately sickness has returned over and over again so Destinee is the one with the fever right now but life must go on!! So I was in charge of the activity day lesson tonight and I think it went very very well I think I even impressed my fellow leader (which is hard to do!!) Homemade Christmas bows that you can make out of all kinds of materials that you already have at home and can be used for all holidays throughout the year...instead of having the $2.00 bag o' 800,000,000 red and green bows that you have to store for the next year!! The bottom two were paper grocery bags and magazine pages!!

Festival of Lights and Sicknesses!!

So for the fourth year in a row we attended some of the beautiful musical shows at the festival of lights at the DC Temple visitor center it never ceases to amaze me how beautiful that place is but Destinee decided to get sick all over the floor in the DC visitor center that night and then everybody else proceeded to get sick a day afterwards so we've had a lot of yuckiness around here lately...hope it goes away soon!!

Cool picture and cool garland

So I've seen it on many pretty blogs of cranberry garland but had never tried it...but we had some left over from Thanksgiving so I thought I'd give it a try man it takes a lot though to go around the tree but I thought they were quite pretty!!

Thanksgiving Day

So I didn't get any good pictures of our guests or even all of our yummy food but it indeed was very yummy and tasty!! I got a picture of three of the people that braved Black Friday sales with me though. I think my pie turned out very pretty as well and I had another one that I didn't take a picture of that had beautiful flower shapes on top.... And the third picture is leftover dough that Kyle asked to play with and then shortly brought over his re-creation of a brain I think it's a pretty good representation it has hemispheres and lines what do you think!!

4 more USAF!!

So after many careful days, weeks, even months of careful reflections Chris decided to give the Air Force some more of his life and some more of his time, despite the paperwork issues and personnel conflicts as they may be it is a wonderful life for our family and provides very well for us. As a reenlistee you get to choose where you would like to reenlist and who is the officer to reenlist you and while we lived in Korea, Chris's commander there we got to be kind of friends with them and enjoyed them very much he has recently moved here to Fort Meade and picked up a few ranks as well so what a pleasure and benefit that Chris could have a Colonel to reenlist him at historic Fort McHenry where the Star-Spangled Banner was written. What a beautiful and picturesque day. We took many more pictures on Chris's camera and when those are uploaded I will show you better ones!!

Port Discovery

So ever since we moved here we have seen this children's museum just a short ways away from us in Baltimore and would've loved to attend it but it has always been so expensive...well every third Friday of the month it becomes two dollars and Chris even got in for free (another military perk) so it was a fun little time!!

A little B-ball!!

So the only organized sport that Kyles ever played was soccer and it was right after we first got here and he was the youngest on the team and the smallest and didn't really understand the concept. So this year we decided that it was time for him to play again and so he's playing basketball with an age group of 5 to 6-year-olds and he is by far one of the best and can hit the basket when so many others can't. I know he's excited to keep playing and uniform pictures to follow, as they haven't gotten them yet.

Colonial Williamsburg for Veterans Day

There's nothing like being a month behind on posting your stuff but hey better late than never right!! So Colonial Williamsburg offers free admission to the military and their families on any patriotic holiday so we thought before the inevitable comes when we must move we should enjoy this historic place so close to us... Hopefully you can see the picture that had the prices on it and see how much of the savings it was if you can't the long and short of it is we got about a $200 deal because we got the three daylong pass for free!!

Cool "Souper Saturday" craft

So once a year my church holds a day called "Souper" Saturday and it is spelled that way because we have soup as well and we ladies get together to make any number of crafts we would like with teachers for each one and this was the etching craft I signed up for today... pretty neat!!

I wonder if it's as sweet as you

Knowing my dad that ought to make my mom and dad laugh!! Chris did at least!! This one's for you dad I wonder if it's any good!!

New members of the Strommer Family

So I happen to have an eight-year-old that absolutely loves all types of animals and tells me every day that he would like to be a herpetologist when he grows up. What a lovely vocabulary word for a young kid!! I couldn't be happier if that is his lifes dream and so these were some of our newest creature additions. It's one of our prettiest aquarium setups ever I think. What do you think?

I'm getting better!!

So it's been about 3 1/2 years since I first began to sew and since then I have only attempted a shirt once and the results were horrendous and unwearable, so because of that experience I've always been scared of the outcome should I ever try one again. Well this was my second attempt and I think it turned out okay!! Kyle is always very appreciative of the things I make for him and he liked it...I even added a hood that wasn't in the pattern
