You Broke Down Where You Say??

Well, we get to Vegas airport and get our Dodge Grand Caravan (what could go wrong when you rent something you already have, right??)..WELL here's what can go wrong..you head yourself to Death Valley National Park and at every stop light for 15 miles before the entrance your car suddenly and very violently just dies!! You restart it, thinking it's a fluke..well after the 6th time, you begin to wonder if going into the hottest place in the country is a WISE idea with a less-then-stellar rental vehicle. You would say, "No, let's not" for fear of the ghastly,and deathly possibilities of trying to survive in Death Valley with no water, wearing flip flops, and no sunscreen. Yet, the Strommers say WHY NOT?? Hey, at least if we die, Destinee's hair will be pretty, right!!?? That's all that matters........................................isn't it?? ;)

Well we do make it through the park and have to go all the way BACK to the airport and get a replacement.

Has Anyone Even Been Wondering??

Well I said a few days ago that I was gonna post pics from our summer vaction, and nobody but my mom has been bugging me to put them up...maybe everyone besides her has been too busy doing their own fun Summer happenings to wonder?? That's understandable!! :) Well here we go though for her and anyone else maybe hoping to see some...Well I wish I could ever figure out how to put the text BEFORE the pics so that you didn't have to look through an album full of blog post wondering where the heck we are, getting bored looking at us and before I can tell you, you leave!! Alas, though I have had no luck!! ;) On our way to my Mom's house to St. George, we stopped off at Death Valley for a little scorching, and it indeed delivered some boiling temps (112 was the hottest our ghetto rental van registered!!)

Lofty Mountain Grandeur....

There's your quiz for today...what song is that title line from?? Anyway, I certainly thought it was a fitting phrase for the pics here. Chris and I, over our 9 years of marriage have always liked to entertain, and cook for people (that's all Chris), and just have friends do things with our family...however many of the times we will ask, we will get turned down or "put off " for whatever reason..(Not trying for "whoa is me" here, it just has happened that way) so imagine our surprise when Chris asks people from our ward to go camping with us...and they say YES!! It was only one night for most of them because they got back for Stake Conf. while the bad Mormons (i.e. Strommers) stayed one more night, but hey they came!! ;) What a wonderful weekend, but of course in true me style, no multi-fam camping pics..forgot the camera...but let's see how these views come out when taken with my cell phone. Okay, so we see that the pics themselves..Great...my ability to turn them so that you can see them...Not so great!! ;)

I'm Alive...But So Many Aren't!!

Yeah, I've been lazy about posting anything on here for a few weeks now, but then again there haven't been many things going on that were blog worthy. Besides, who really missed looking at my mug, and hearing my inner most ramblings anyway, right?? ;) Anyway, it is no secret (at least I don't think it is..but in case it was a secret) I DON'T LIKE MY KID'S SCHOOL!! There now it's out, and whooh am I glad that's off my chest...Why you might ask...okay well here goes...they don't teach the kids anything about history (thus far, very little), they have way too much homework when they come home (even my kindergartner), and they have way too many stupid rules (a parent can't walk down the halls after school has started to bring their kid..let's say their lunch that they foolishly forgot). Just a few of my issues, BUT today's post is about something cool they're doing today...they're trying to butter me up to like them better...we'll see if it works!! ;) The day before the kids get out for Memorial Day weekend they are having a "Red,White,and Blue Day" where the kids can wear hats (heaven forbid), and dress all Americanish...so you know me...couldn't just leave it at a red white and blue outfit...here are the results!! Don't you love the hat?? Hey, when they let you wear one, you gotta go all out, right!!??

A Mother's Day Surprise

Though a few days late, I've been "shamed" into writing something about Mother's Day because of how well my fellow bloggers have done documenting the wonderful efforts of their husbands. And of course, with no pics, (classic me), you'll just have to imagine the prettiest yellow and red roses (red tipped yellow) in a gorgeous Polish pottery vase, and TWO cards (not just one that says everything already in the card that your husband just signs and takes the credit for the card writer's genius) but a handwritten one with sentiments of love, and caring as well. Oh and some wonderful morsels of breakfast as well, all finished up with a beautiful (though windy) day at a park where we grilled a wonderful dinner.....what a great day it truly was..Thanks for the thought My Dear!! And of course I wouldn't have known how women should've been treated if it hadn't been for my wonderful mom and her truly miraculous patience with me growing up...so Happy Mother's to all those friends and family who still occasionally follow me on here!! ;)
