Love This Boy!!

Well, at just 6 years younger than me, I guess he's more of a man but hey, younger is younger, right!!?? This is Casey, my older sister's son, and though we haven't seen each other since he was in high school (he's now been on a mission, gotten a degree, etc.) we fell right into a groove of me picking on him, him wrestling my kids, etc. (You know all the standard Aunt/nephew stuff, right!!??) ;) He is such an example of what a young LDS man should be, and the type of guy you would LOVE..no CRAVE for your daughters to marry. He and his family left a few days before we did (they drove to Oregon with 5 people in a 4 seat truck, with no air-conditioning, and in the middle of the night)..that's how my sister rolls!!
The reason I am giving my nephew a whole blog post to himself is because of the absolute wonderful person that he is, which is enough I think, but also because of the circumstance that he finds himself in at this present moment. Like I said, he and his family left a few days before mine did and in those few days extra that my family stayed, we received a call from this boy's mother (my sister) telling us of some horrific news that had befallen this young man. He was working as a "fill-in" for a construction company for only a week before his summer job started, and while in this temp job, some knuckle-head (insert MUCH harsher words here) decided to unscrew a railing on a second story scaffolding that the company was working and climbing on but DIDN"T TAKE IT DOWN!!!! It was left for whoever the next unfortunate soul was to pass by that way to fall to what easily could have been their death. Of course, as I say this you know I speak of Casey...but fortunately he was not killed but shattered both his wrists at the growth place and had to have immediate surgery to put steel rods/pins/etc. into his hands just to be able to TRY and save SOME of his mobility. The surgeon told his mother that he was not very optimistic that Casey would ever regain all the mobility he once had. Can you just imagine what you would feel/say/do,etc.
I LOVE YOU CASEY!!

We all love Casey and include him in our prayers daily. Nancy says he is doing physical therapy now and hopefully he will not find his life altered greatly after a few months!
