First week after birth

So long time no posting but I've posted a few things on Facebook for friends to see, but if I ever make the blog into a book like I want to...I'll want documentation here too!! After a disappointing miscarriage and then three months after getting pregnant again, and the obligatory 9 months to grow a human, this little boy has long been waited for!! My last kiddo and third rambunctious, crazy, sensitive, artistic, athletic boy Logan Chandler Strommer.

Proud Momma and Papa!!

So Dalin and Kyle just finished their soccer seasons a week ago and both truly excelled and makes Mommy SO proud because I LOVE to cheer for them. If I didn't have kiddos that liked sports (not to mention when they're good) I think I would be a sad shell of a mom!! :) So each coach did a mini award ceremony after their last game and what makes me say "proud" momma and papa in the title was because Dalins award was "MVP forward" and especially proud moment for Kyles which was "Outstanding character and Sportsman award."  Kyles coaches would tell me quite often how much of a coaches' dream he was because he would take the advice and then come home and practice in his off time.

We're Trying!!

We try to be as good of an LDS family as we can, but even though it's never a good idea to compare yourself to other people, it is extremely hard to do when the people are your friends and spiritually exceed you in every way (it seems) but regardless a family we have become friends with here has inspired us to try as make it to the temple more often. This past weekend was Destinee's first temple trip and so that she would have a better chance of being "fit in" Chris went in with her to see if he could help being an extra priesthood holder, but little did he know how much help he was going to be asked to be. Three hours and some 200 baptisms later, he and Destinee finally emerged to a very happy Mommy and boys!! (Destinee only did about 10, and so ALL the rest of those were some other youth group that Chris was asked to help with!!)

A Veterans Day Thank You!!

So of course I'm behind again on my updates here, but oh well I'll try to get up to date soon!! For today though, I wanted to make sure I posted a true thank you to my husband and all those others who have faithfully served in our US forces...no matter how long or in what capacity...you truly have contributed to our country's success.  However, on my own husband I love that when he is faced with a choice to do what he probably "should" be doing (HW,etc.) and his littlest (for another month) kiddos plea to play yet another game of soccer, or basketball, or some toy he will always choose to make his children happy by taking the time to make their day and see their faces sparkle with joy.  I love you so much for that Chris, as do your children...

An awesome night!!

So our family has made quite a few stellar friends since we have been here in Monterey and one of them volunteered to watch our children overnight so that Chris and I could have a date night of sorts since he just got back from Korea... We saved the money and didn't do anything super expensive like rent a hotel or anything but it was just nice to be able to relax and do whatever we wanted and just be able to keep each other company

Hawaiian for the Night

So Destinee got to be Hawaiian for a night and even learn a New Zealand war dance taught by the missionaries to perform at our church's luau put on by our Tongan ward....my dad would've loved all the real traditional dances, and maybe still would've enjoyed the YM and YWs version too!! :)

Pretty awesome principal!!

So Kyles principal told the kids that if they sold 2000 books at the book fair, that he would die his hair and the 6th graders got to choose what color...well in case you can't see it very well....they sold WAY more and the color was rainbow!! ;) 

Family visit

I know I included a few of these pics on the other post but this one deserved its own...we had the privilege of having my older sister and some of her kiddos come down and visit us here for a VERY quick trip but quick is better than nothing!! I think we all had a good time together before Chris left for the far reaches of the world for a month!! :)

Updates of our life...for you Mom!!

So life just gets away from you sometimes and you forget all the fun things you've done until you look at pictures you've taken to remind you!! We've made some fabulous friends here, and have been able to do some fun things with them, as well as playin sports, etc. 

A Summer Visit

So the kids and I were lucky enough to go get to see my mom and dad (and my sister and cousins) this summer while Chris slaved away here!! Lots of fun times and it was so nice to see my dad do and enjoy, I think, things with my boys just "the boys!!" There is a picture of a game (trick) he taught them to play and told them to play it on Daddy, and I'm sure Grandpa would be glad to know that it went very well and all "according to plan" when we did it on him!!
