This One's For The Girls
So this was our monthly enrichment activity for Relief Society and it was based on the Martina McBride song "This One's For The Girls" and a poem that we love to love in our church, called "The Three White Dresses." But anyway, we got to bring our daughters to this one, so as you can see in one of the pictures here, there was quite an array of mothers and different aged daughters-ranging from Riley Perkes (the 3 month old baby in the last pic) to Michelle (who leaves for college next week). What a wonderful idea that the ladies had for this one, complete with nail paiting, and picture frame making and even a little photo op!! ;) Thanks for a wonderful activity ladies!! ;)

Like Father, Like Daughter
So I ask Destinee to come up with something that we could have for lunch...yes it's perfectly reasonable to ask her to do that if I'm helping (doing most of it) clean up her room...so : P to anyone who thought I was just being lazy and not wanting to do lunch...(which was also true.) But anyway, whenever Chris cooks, he makes a production out of the simplest ingredients and makes it a gourmet feast soley by the way he "presents" the food to eat...."Voila, I have made beef liver, and brusselsprouts for you..but it's put in this nice bowl...now feast!!" I mean, really!! Anyway, so this is what Destinee had done with our crackers and cheese for lunch...made our own little version of Lunchables and stacked them in such beautiful little piles. I hope this could continue, then I'll never have to make lunch again!! ;)
I Know..I Know...Get on with the good stuff
Yes the title would be eluding to the fact that most people would not consider this the good stuff, but then again I mean let's be real here...is anything I post ever really anything that could be classified as "The Good Stuff".......exactly!! So on with the less than good stuff, but GREAT as far as hairstyles go...I loved these last two I did and thought they came out very well!! ;)

Whatcha Doin' With Your Summer??
Well, actually I've been very industrious (at least for the last few days) and have been very proud of myself in the things I've put together to entertain the kiddos. Let's see...two days ago we went to the Crytologic Museum over near NSA (No Such Agency!!) and got to see a small tidbit of what the hubbies do over in the dark building with no windows..the kids got to go on a deciphering mission with 14 different messages to decode and then got some pretty cool prizes...very awesome, I must say. Then yesterday, I took the kids to what should have been the Horizon Organic Dairy Farm (previously owned and used by the Naval Academy here in the early 1900's to provde milk to all their students.) I had a "Fun Things to Do with Family in Maryland" book and this was one of the activities and so reading about the petting zoo, hands on activities, hay rides, tours, etc. I thought this would be a great day trip. Well after getting to where the GPS said the farm should be, and finding it COMPLETELY deserted/run down/and all around like a ghost town (or farm in this case)..we thought something might be a little off, but HEY who's up for an adventure. So we got to still pet the horses, sheep, and see cows with NOT one single person around to tell us what we could and couldn't do. Why do you ask did the book say all these wonderful things existed here, and we find a ghost town...the book was published in 2004!! Better check those publishing dates next time, before I venture out huh!! Well, not being satisfied enough with our outing for that morning, we went to a park that we'd never been to, with large climbing trees and an overall wonderful atmosphere for a picnic.
Then today, well the picture explains what we did today..at least I hope you can tell..we made body prints out of freezer paper and the kids got to decorate them as they chose. Pretty neat!! Now tell me what you've been up to?? ;)
All this for FREEEEEE??
If you haven't seen the movie "Bedtime Stories" (w/ Adam Sandler), then first of all you really should, and second of all the title of this post will look more like I fell asleep on the E key and not something funny, but if you're in the "know" then it would be funny!! ;) So we go to the "National Night Out" thing on base last night (not what it sounds like, but is actually a night for cops and firemen to show off safety things, etc. etc.) but we waited in line for approx. 25 minutes at the very last few minutes of the activity just to get our faces painted (well, the kids, not me) and consequently were probably among the last 5 people left on this huge parade field, but there was food, face painting, prizes, etc. for FREEE!! ;) That's the kinda price I like....BTW, can anyone tell what animal Dalin is?? Let's see how many guesses I can get.
Summer In All Its Finest
Well originally this post was going to be entitled: Why I Love Summer and the list was going to go something like this:
1. Raspberries
2.Blueberries
3.Peaches
4.Strawberries
5.Cherries
6.Nectarines
7.Plums
8. #1-7 all included on a homemade waffle with whipped cream
BUT, then I included a picture of a dessert I made for some lovely house guests we had last Sunday, and that didn't include any of #'s 1-7 but did contain ALOT of yummy chocolate and ice cream!! ;) Oh wait, it did include bananas..you know get in those 5 servings of fruits/veggies somewhere right!!?? ;)

Cutest Blogs on the Block Users
Well, I get this msg. from the company that I use for my blog background saying that my background (and everyone else's with the same co.) would be deleted on Friday (today) and so I go to change it and I changed other stuff while there. Not really sure I love what I changed but oh well, maybe I'll fix it later with a better picture.
